UKIP selects PPC for Gloucester
The City of Gloucester Branch of the UK Independence Party has adopted Mrs Sue Taylor as its Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.
Mrs Taylor, who was born and raised in Gloucestershire, is married with two teenaged children. She lives in the county near Moreton-in-Marsh and works in Andoversford and at a well-known supermarket.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs Taylor said, “The UK Independence Party represents the views of the majority of people in this country. It listens, hears and supports what the people want. Listening and hearing are not the same thing. I am not a professional politician and somewhat new to this. However, as a wife and mother, I feel that I can relate to the needs of ordinary people.”
“People are tired of having their views ignored. Labour promised us a referendum on the European Union Constitution and has now said we can’t have one. This is not democracy; it is a total lack of respect for the people of this country and their views; yet another betrayal by this government. That’s why we will continue to fight for our right to a referendum.”
Mrs Taylor will be at the UKIP stand in Kings Square Gloucester on Tuesday 30th October and Tuesday November 6th (weather permitting) from 10.00am to 1.00pm and invites people to come along and meet her. Look for the green gazebo.
During a recent tour of flood-affected areas, Mrs Taylor was appalled at the fact that many people would not be back in their houses before the spring. “Politicians make flying visits to these areas and then people are left to sort their problems on their own,” she said.
