Richard Ford
About Richard Ford 6 Articles
Richard Ford has spent his whole life in business and the private sector. He grew his company from start up to one of Gloucestershire's top 20 companies, and top 5 privately owned companies, winning many awards along the way. These included Gloucestershire Business of the Year, and a shortlisting for South West Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as many others. He built his business from zero to a turnover of £76 million pa and 300 employees. Richard is an Honours Graduate in Law from the University of Durham, speaks German fluently, and French to a reasonable level, as well as a smattering of several other European languages. Having travelled to many countries and to every continent, Richard gradually became concerned that the process of ever closer European integration was starting to have a detrimental effect on the UK's future prospects, and he therefore stood as the UKIP Parliamentary Candidate for Gloucester in the 2015 General Election, quadrupling the party's share of the vote and recording the party's highest percentage to date in the city. He has also stood twice for election as a UKIP candidate to Stroud District Council
