TEWKESBURY BOROUGH COUNCIL LOCAL ELECTION: HOW DID WE DO?

UKIP candidates standing in the Tewkesbury Borough Council elections can be very pleased with their results.

In Northway ward, John Dockree won a massive 20.8% of the vote and came joint third, with Andrew Maith (known locally as Andy Coates) coming 6th with 17.6%, or 140 votes. Andy has only lived in the area for 8 months, and is already an active member of the community. He expressed satisfaction with the result, and said he will be standing again. Badgeworth ward saw Dave Lewis also snatch 3rd place with 14.3% of the vote.

In Brockworth East, UKIP’s Phil Nash took 16.7%, coming 5th with 130 votes, while Sylvia Bishop in Brockworth West came 7th with 13.2% and 137 votes.

UKIP also won 10% of the vote in Churchdown Brookfield with Hucclecote, and 10.5% in Shurdington.

Gloucester, Cheltenham & Tewkesbury branch members are looking forward to contesting future local elections, especially in Gloucester and Cheltenham next year.
